Avocado Harvest

At the end of the season we harvested 51 avocados today. I figure we got at least 80 and maybe 100 fruit this year.

180 Seascape strawberry plants

Finished construction to merge the two strawberry beds into one larger bed on one level.

Added compost, soil, chicken manure, 16-16-16 fertilizer and 12cuf soil amendment.

New drip irrigation lines. 1/4" tubing with emitters at 9" spacing.  Planted at each emitter.

Divided the crowns of 1 year old plants to start fresh. Each crown yielded about 5 plants.

Set irrigation to every other day, 15 min, 2X with 180 minute soak time.

Tensiometer Installed

Today I installed a 12" Irrometer tensiometer in the SW corner of the Zutano avocado drip line.  This device is designed to measure the force required for the roots to pull water out of the soil.  When the soil is at field capacity, the tensiometer reads zero.  I will monitor this meter daily and record gauge readings to determine when to irrigate.
