Banana Plantation
Freshly planted from left to right (west to east) Dwarf Brazilian,
Sweetheart, and Orinoco. This hot, humid San Diego summer is perfect
for these babies; just keep the frost away this winter. A nice
companion to stone fruits!?!

The first banana was planted last night at dusk. This Musa 'Orinoco'

Zutano Polination
Very successful polination of the Zutano Avocado this year. If half
survive I will be handing them out all winter!

Relaxed Chickens
The hens were exhausted today after a couple hours of searching for
grubs. They laid down for a rest under the lemon tree. Enjoy the
video.

Spring in the Middle of Winter?
The fruit trees and berries are ready to spring into growth. Peach
buds are swelling. Apples are leafing and beginning to bloom.
Blackberries and raspberries are ready to shoot. And the cherries are
showing the first sign of bud swell. I guess I should hope for an
early spring since it is already here!

Our First Egg!
It is full size and light brown. The hens didn't tell me who produced it.
Guess what I'm having for breakfast?
